Tips on repellent use Always read label directions carefully for the approved usage before you apply a repellent. Some repellents are not suitable for children. Products with concentrations of up to 30 percent DEET are generally recommended. Other U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-approved repellents contain Picaridin, oil of lemon eucalyptus or IR3535. The study is expected to enroll patients at http://news.sciencemag.org/biology/2014/07/unexpected-stem-cell-factories-found-inside-teeth sites throughout the U.S. starting immediately. Charles Pollack, MD, lead study investigator and Chief Medical Officer of Transition Patient Services, said, "Patients with hypothyroidism, particularly those who also have gastrointestinal disorders like celiac disease and H. pylori infection, may have trouble tolerating or absorbing traditional T4 tablets. This hinders them from achieving normal TSH levels. CONTROL will evaluate Tirosint therapy in these patients in order to provide documentation of Tirosint's effectiveness and tolerability, as well as offer insights about hypothyroid patients' quality of life before and after Tirosint treatment. We anticipate having results by early 2016 and look forward to publishing our findings to help better inform hypothyroidism treatment decisions." CONTROL has been approved by the Western Institutional Review Board. <br>To look at the original source and any additional images or video, visit http://finance.yahoo.com/news/akrimax-pharmaceuticals-initiates-control-patient-123000506.html

Surgeon General Issues Call To Action To Prevent Increase In Ski

Surgeon General: skin cancer is a major public health concern - FOX 10 News | myfoxphoenix.com

> Today's Headlines A key message in todays report is that although people with lighter skin are at higher risk, anyone can get skin cancerand it can be disfiguring, even deadly. Over the last three decades, the number of Americans who have had skin cancer is estimated to be higher than the number for all other cancers combined. While many other cancers, such as lung cancer, are decreasing, rates of melanoma -- the deadliest form of skin cancer -- are increasing, said Assistant Secretary for Health Howard K. Koh, M.D., M.P.H. As a skin oncologist who worked in this field for many years, I have cared for both the young and old with skin cancers. Almost all of these cancers were caused by unnecessary ultraviolet radiation exposure, usually from excessive time in the sun or from the use of indoor tanning devices. Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer. <br>For the original version including any supplementary images or video, visit http://www.seniorjournal.com/NEWS/Health/2014/20140729_Surgeon_General_Issues_Call_to_Action_to_Prevent_Increase_in_Skin_Cancer.htm

The award will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the Traverse Biosciences' drug candidate, TRB-N0224, for the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA). The research will be led by Daniel A. "With support from this award, we will be conducting research that will focus not only on the alleviation of the symptoms of osteoarthritis, but also on the regeneration and protection of affected cartilage and joints," said Dr. Grande. "Our team is very pleased to collaborate with Traverse Biosciences in an effort to develop a new treatment for both animals and people who suffer from osteoarthritis." OA is the most common form of musculoskeletal disease, affecting approximately 27 million Americans, and it is a leading cause of disability worldwide. increasingly moves toward adopting laws in favor of both medical and recreational marijuana, lawmakers against its acceptance have often used the argument that legal weed leads to an increase in underage use in debates. Opponents of legalization say they are concerned it will cause adolescents to pick up the habit, and previous research has at times seemed to support this notion. In February, the International Journal of Drug Policy released a study that found 10 percent of high school students who were considered low risk for becoming marijuana smokers (a group defined by things like whether they smoke cigarettes, have strong religious beliefs or associate with non-marijuana smoking friends) say they would try pot if it was legal. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, marijuana use among teens declined from the late 1990s until the mid-to-late 2000s. In 2013, 36 percent of high school seniors said they used pot in the past year, while 6.5 percent said they were regular users. <br>For the original version including any supplementary images or video, visit http://www.ibtimes.com/medical-marijuana-legalization-pro-pot-laws-do-not-lead-more-drug-use-among-teens-study-1642342
